Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern
Monica Gray is a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern in Florida and has been practicing as a Licensed Associate Counselor in New Jersey for the past two years. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling and she also holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Michigan.
Monica spent her early career in corporate marketing. After starting a family, she decided to concentrate on raising her three boys and teaching Barre classes. Her 15 years as a barre instructor and creative director enabled her to grow as a teacher, leader, and health advocate. In her current role as a mental health counselor, Monica incorporates her previous work experiences to help individuals and couples find peace, self-acceptance, and self-love. She takes a psychodynamic approach rooted in attachment theory. Her background includes work in the areas of trauma, sexual abuse, anxiety and mood disorders, relationship concerns, obsessive thoughts and behaviors, depression, and personality disorders.
Monica employs DBT and CBT strategies to help clients achieve their goals.In her free time, Monica enjoys hanging with her family, exercise and meditation, and taking Millie (her beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) on long walks. Monica believes that true healing is built on a foundation of trust, understanding, kindness, and self-compassion.
